Its been only a few weeks now since our fantastic Easter Concert and we’ve already got the photos and recordings back! Rejoice! I have posted all the recordings in the video gallery for you to have a good listen too and there is also a modest selection of concert photos in the regular gallery as well. (I have also included some photos from other recent gigs including TWAF and the Ukulele Night at the Zed Music Cafe).
This year’s Easter Concert was great fun, but sadly it was also the last for some of our older players who will be off to various universities this September. They will be missed! Good luck!
Our glorious leader also decided that some of the old hands deserved a mention and promptly dished out some medals for long service (“I am 10!” birthday badges). I think I might actually frame mine!
Many thanks to all the wonderful people who helped make it such a great day: Brian Hazelden for making the audio recording and Jivan de Silva for being his able-bodied assistant, Mark Ivaldi for taking all the excellent photos, Elizabeth Billingham for giving up her weekend to play Oboe and Cor with Concert Band and Daryl Oliver for doing the same with assorted saxes, Russell Joyce and his wife Adriana for writing and printing the programmes, the committee members and parents who helped with all the lifting and shifting the enormous amount of baking for the interval, the conductors and Madame Chairperson who ran the show and finally and most importantly the players who worked hard all term to make the wonderful music you all heard! Thank you!
But don’t think for a second that that’s all for this year- go to our events page to check out some of the gigs we have coming up in the summer term 🙂
